This Privacy Policy explains how Sokommerce, operated by A&K Worldwide Enterprises FZCO ("Sokommerce", "we", "us"), collects and uses your information when you use our website at sokommerce.com and our mobile applications (the "App").

Information we collect

Account information — your name, shop name, email address and phone number when you sign up.
Shop content — products, services, prices, descriptions, and images or logos you upload.
Photos — when you choose to upload a logo or product/service images, the App accesses photos or your camera. We only access images you explicitly select; we do not scan your photo library.
Approximate location — a coarse (city/county-level) location to show your business in the correct area on Soko Find and to relevant nearby customers. We do not collect precise GPS tracking.
Payment information — your M-PESA phone number and transaction references for subscriptions and boosts, processed by our payment partner. We never store your full M-PESA PIN, card numbers or banking credentials.
Order information — order details and customer contact details you receive through the platform.
Device & push tokens — a device push token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you order alerts and account notifications.
Usage data — basic analytics such as pages visited, features used and device type, to improve and secure the service.

How we use your information

To create and operate your online shop and process orders.
To enable M-PESA payments, subscriptions and boosts through our payment partner.
To display your business in the correct location on Soko Find.
To send you order alerts and important account notifications.
To improve, secure and support the platform.

Payments

Customer payments for your sales go directly to your own M-PESA. Sokommerce does not hold your sales revenue. Subscription and boost payments are processed by IntaSend, a licensed payment service provider. We do not store your full M-PESA PIN, card numbers or banking credentials.

Third-party services we use

We share only the information necessary for these providers to run the platform:

IntaSend — M-PESA and card payment processing for subscriptions and boosts.
Supabase — secure database, authentication and file storage (hosted in the EU).
Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging) — push notifications.
Vercel — application hosting and delivery.

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers above and where required by law.

Data retention

We keep your account and shop data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your shop and associated personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain certain records (for example, transaction records) to comply with legal and accounting obligations.

Delete your account and data

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.

In the App, go to Settings → Delete account, or email us at support@sokommerce.com with the subject "Delete my account". We will permanently delete your shop, listings, images and personal data within 30 days. Records required by law (such as completed transaction records) may be retained for the legally required period.

Your rights

You may access, correct, export or request deletion of your account data by contacting us. You may also withdraw consent for notifications at any time in your device settings.

Children

Sokommerce is intended for business owners and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age.

Data location & security

Your data is stored on secure servers in the European Union and protected with encryption in transit. While no system is completely secure, we apply industry-standard measures to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
